For the discerning fiber enthusiast, my hand processed Batts, Roving & Yarn are quite honestly....natural fibers at their best!
Fiber is our passion and at the very heart of our business. We find it immensely rewarding to take the luxurious fleeces that are the result of our breeding program, full circle and produce lovely finished products. In the studio at Spirit Wind Farm, we have fiber at all stages available for sale: fleeces, batts, roving, yarn, apparel, accessories and home designs. Although we have been creating our own batts, roving and handmade items for over ten years now, we felt our fiber business had grown to the point whereas it deserved it's own name. Therefore in 2010, Spirit Wind H’artFelts, natural fiber expressions was created as the label for my unique product line.
Although alpaca fiber is by far my favorite, I work with a variety of natural fibers in order to achieve the results I am looking for. With that being said, my completed piece is not always what I envisioned it to be, as the fibers are transformed using various techniques such as felting, weaving, knitting, stitching, dying and/or beading. This transformation affects the texture and color as much as it does the design. I have a particular love of felting, as the process quite literally sculpts fiber into form. Each new project is exciting as there is a sense of mystery which unfolds only when the piece is complete. Although inspired by the world around me, I’d have to say that my pieces most often mirror the colors and patterns found in nature. As in nature, no two of my pieces are alike; each is as unique as you and I, handmade one at a time.

My pieces range from simple to complex, yet all are comfortable and easy to wear.
